n/a This is a mini site I put together for my Final Major Project in BA (Hons) Modelmaking for Design and Media which I did at the The Arts University College at Bournemouth. I have included materials which show most of the process I went through from the design sketches to the final product.

How do you sell a design?

Posted: 21 Feb 07 - 10:24

I could do with some advice. I would love to see this thing actually be produced and I've been playing around with the idea of selling the design or licensing it. But I'm not sure where to begin. Maybe you can help?

  1. How would you go about approaching a company?
  2. Do companies often buy designs or do they prefer to have them design in-house?
  3. What do you have to be aware of?
  4. What can you expect?
  5. Is there any specific companies you could imagine would be interested

Do you know how it works? Do you know anybody who might know? If you do, please drop me a comment.

Pigs can fly! The site is online!

Posted: 20 Feb 07 - 17:38

Finally, half a year after I finished the project I could now put the site online. I've been very busy since graduation and have working in London where I currently live. I left the job I had when the contract ran out in search for more diverse experience so I grabbed the opportunity to get this site done before I start on a new job.

So take a look around and let me know what you think. Feel free to ask questions and I'll try to answer the best I can.

The sketches are just a small selection of the droodeling I did which I put up here just for curiosity.

Most of the process is documented, there should more than enough details. For those of you interested in the technical stuff.
